ART 230 Sculpture An introductory studio course for modeling forms in 3-dimensions utilizing additive and subtractive techniques. Students will learn how to manipulate clay and plaster to create natural, representational, and abstract forms. A live model will be used to render a human portrait in clay. Attention will also be given to the history and significance of the portrait and human form in art history and present cultural discussions. Formerly ART 250. Prerequisite(s): ART 110 or permission of instructor. Six hours studio. Course fee: $60. Spring. 3 hour(s).
