EDU 650 The School in Society (Core Course)


A historical overview of institutional change over time that gives focused attention on the school in American society.  Students will explore the role of schooling in various eras of American history examining the divergent problems education was asked to solve amid an ever growing and diversifying population.  The course examines culture as an integrated whole, the nature of cultural change, and the role of the school in both facing and effecting change in society. Prerequisite(s): EDU 610 . 3 hours
