PSY 360 Psychology of Religion


A study of the psychology of religion from a cognitive perspective. The course includes theories of the origin of religion, neuroscientific aspects of religion, normal perceptual processes in the development of religious belief, childhood development and innate religiosity, social-cognitive transmission processes, and the role of rituals in the maintenance of transmission of religion. Prerequisite(s): PSY 100 . Offered every other spring. 3 hour(s).
