FRE 230 Introduction to French Cinema

Taught in English, this course introduces students to the aesthetics and history of French and Francophone cinema from the late 19th century to the present. Film screenings are accompanied by theoretical texts in order to draw links between the formal and technical qualities of films, their historical reception, and cultural import.
