PHI 199 Women in Philosophy

Survey of the works of influential female philosophers from the 14th century to the present day.  Particular attention will be given to recent efforts to increase the number of influence of women contributing to philosophical inquiry in the western world, the role that patterns of advantage and disadvantage has affected  the role that women have played in public philosophical discourse, and the similarities and differences between women and openly professing Christians as marginalized voices in philosophy.
