STA 252 Elementary Statistics: Concepts and Methods


An introductory course in the application of statistical concepts and methods to the social and natural sciences. Topics considered include the nature and importance of statistics, quantification, measurement, probability, elementary research design, the collection and scoring of research results, descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, hypothesis testing, and correlation and linear regression. Computer applications will be stressed. Offered for students majoring in Biology, Psychology, Sociology, and Sport Management. Prerequisite(s):  MAT 122 , or higher-level mathematics course, or placement level 2 or higher. 3 hour(s).
