The core and distribution requirements for a major in natural science, concentration in pre-engineering studies are outlined below. Exceptions can be made depending on the particular requirements of the school to which a transfer is planned for completion of the dual degree program. Based on tight scheduling required in this major, an exception will allow one approved course to fulfill both the core diversity requirement and the core fine arts distribution requirement. A GPA of 3.00 for all courses as well as math, science, and engineering courses should be maintained to improve the likelihood of acceptance into a desired engineering program. This is currently the minimum GPA to be considered by some of the engineering departments at Georgia Tech, but it is subject to change.
