MAT 132 College Algebra II


The course is a continuation of MAT 131, and will cover linear functions and equations in two variables, graph transformations and function composition, quadratic functions, polynomial functions and inequalities, rational functions and inequalities, exponential functions and equations, and logarithmic functions and equations. Designed for those who have had two years of high school algebra, but need more depth in algebraic topics to prepare for enrollment in MAT 142 , MAT 144 , STA 253 , or STA 254 . Prerequisite(s): MAT 131 . This course fulfills the core mathematics requirement. Credit will not be given for both MAT 132 and MAT 141 , and the course is not open to students with credit for any mathematics course (or equivalent) numbered 141 or higher unless special permission is granted by the instructor.  3 hour(s).
