Department Goals
Covenant’s Physical and Sport Education Department provides students with an in-depth study of the human body and its various functions as they relate to health and fitness and the Christian world and life view. The minors prepare students to work in leadership positions in coaching and sports management. Courses provide an understanding of nutritional aspects of good health as well as a thorough study of contemporary issues in health and fitness. The department also emphasizes the value of lifestyle activities, cardiovascular fitness, muscle integrity, and lifetime recreational sports for all.
Since upper division Physical and Sport Education courses are offered on an every fourth semester rotation, students desiring to minor in Physical Education or use the Coaching or Sports Management IDS disciplines need to begin taking courses in those areas by the first semester of their sophomore year if they plan to finish the requirements in four years. Failure to do so will probably cause the student to take course work beyond the traditional four year program. ProgramsMajorMinor and ConcentrationsCoursesPhysical and Sport Education
