The core and distribution requirements for a major in economics are those listed for a baccalaureate degree , with the exception that a course in history, political studies, psychology or sociology is required to fulfill the social science distribution requirement. ECO 202 Principles of Microeconomics covers some unique content as a four hour class and must be completed at Covenant unless otherwise approved. Economics electives may also count for minors in other departments. MAT 132 College Algebra II or MAT 141 Accelerated College Algebra or a math placement level of 3 is a prerequisite for ECO 202 and STA 254 .
