HIS 304 Medieval Civilization The medieval world is studied as a civilization in its own right, having its own particular values and institutional structure. The course begins with the Germanic invasions of the western Roman empire and ends with the decline of the church in the fourteenth century. Attention will focus on the development of the concept of a united Christian society and the accompanying cultural differentiation. Prerequisite(s): HIS 213 or COR 225 or permission of the instructor. 3 hour(s).
