POL 105 Political Research Methods


An introduction to the study of politics as a field of scholarly research and a diverse academic and public profession. The course provides students with an overview of the subfields of political studies and the major bodies of theory relevant to each, as well as an introduction to the various methods commonly used to study political phenomena, and current issues with which scholars are engaged. This course is intended as a gateway to prepare students for all subsequent coursework in political studies, and may be used to help students assess the value of a minor or History concentration in Political Studies. 3 hour(s).
