LIN 450 Psycholinguistics


This course examines the mental processes involved in understanding, producing, and learning language. Topics include the comprehension of spoken and written language, speech perception and production, word recognition, mental representation of language, the influence of language on cognition, bilingualism, aphasia, dyslexia, and research methods in psycholinguistics. This course focuses primarily on adult language, making occasional comparisons with child language. Prerequisite(s): LIN 150 , PSY 100  or PSY 101   3 hour(s).
